Written Directions

Take Guanella Pass road between Georgetown, CO to Grant, CO (closed in winter).

Scenery

Great views all along Guanella Pass Rd. of various nearby peaks such as Mount Evans which has the highest peak of the Chicago Peaks in the Front Range of the entire Rocky Mountains.

Drive Enjoyment

The northern half has been paved for some time. The southern half was dirt for a long time but paving was completed just recently. Lots of nice turns.

Tourism Opportunities

Other than beautiful views and a nice road, don't plan on any amenities between Georgetown and Grant.

I rode this route in August 2016, in the rain, 40 degrees. I would return to do it again in a heartbeat. One of the most beautiful places I've ever been.
