Starts at the Purdy Bridge north of Gig Harbor Washington and winds down to Allyn, Washington.
Scenery
Travels through rural Key Peninsula in Pierce County, Washington and hits the Puget Sound to get into some twisties south to Allyn. If you get stuck behind a slow driver, enjoy the views of the Puget Sound and the mountains.
Drive Enjoyment
A mix of sweeping turns and twisties. Frequently some surface work being done (or needs to be done).
Tourism Opportunities
Not much until you get into Allyn, which is a small town that has a few restaurants and burger joints and, of course, coffee stands. Gas in Alllyn if needed.
This is a terrific way to get from Purdy to Allyn. The road is scenic and somewhat twisty (no switchbacks or sharp curves). The speed limit ranges from 35 - 50. The road is well-maintained and there are no decreasing radius turns to be concerned about. However, don't take it too quick until you are familiar with the road, because there are A LOT of driveways and side roads that feed into the 302, and several are right in the middle of curves. Also, law enforcement patrols this road fairly regularly. It's best early in the morning when traffic is very light.

Nice, scenic back road. Great way to cut from Hwy 16 over to Hwy 3 or vice versa.
