Go up Sis Forks rd north of 540. Take a left on Mt Vernon Church Rd. After the stoplight at Norwood, you will have to take a left turn to stay on Mt. Vernon. Do NOT take that left turn! The route you want to take is straight and the road becomes Pleasant Union Church rd. Here you will be treated to a series ov sweeping curves including one marked "15 miles per hour". It is a wonderful series of curves through lovely wooded areas. When it ends, I recommend heading north on Six Forks through the reservoir and more wooded scenery. Just beautiful!
Scenery
This route mostly goes through wooded residential areas with elevation changes and a lot of nice turns. If you go north on Six forks you will be treated to a land bridge across a large reservoir area with wooded vistas
Drive Enjoyment
Mt Vernon Church rd has a few rough patches. Once you get past Norwood Rd, the pavement is immaculate. The "15 MPH" turn is rather tight but doable at almost twice that sped (after you have done it a couple of times)
Tourism Opportunities
There is a gas station on Six Forks Rd. at Mt Vernon Church Rd. Beyond that it is just rural residential.
Great ride that lasts for about 5 minutes. Took about 1 hour to get there and had to drive through a lot of Capital BLVD traffic. The area is full of wooded lots and mansions and the trail ends at a county park. I wouldn't go up there again.

Ride it as many times a week as possible. Doing the speed limit working every time to perfect speed, posture, turn-in, trail brake, roll on and relax.
