Written Directions

From Haigler, Nebraska just head south on route 27 all the way down through St. Francis and continuing on to Sharon Springs, Kansas.

Scenery

Travelers along the Land and Sky Scenic Byway have the opportunity to experience the Wallace Branch of the Great Western Cattle Trail, scale the highest point in Kansas at Mount Sunflower and explore the deep canyons and rugged landscape of the Arikaree Breaks. The north-west corner of Kansas features the Arikaree Breaks, where the flat farmlands of Kansas break off into the Republican River valley. Beautiful high planes foliage with yucca and grass.

Drive Enjoyment

This is one of Kansas Scenic Byways so it is a very well maintained road.

Tourism Opportunities

Along the route, you pass by the St. Francis Motorcycle Museum. Well worth the stop to check it out. https://stfrancismotorcyclemuseum.org/

The byway is also the only one in the state that focuses on agriculture and features thousands of acres of rotating crops, livestock, and wildlife along the route.
