Written Directions

The simplest way is to take Placer Street west/southwest out of Redding. When you come to the intersection of County Road A16 take a right (this becomes Platina Road). Take that all the way southwest as it snakes it's way to Platina, CA. I'm from Canada reviewing a US road. I came here wanting to include route 36 based on a review here but let my GPS show me the way out of Redding. It didn't disappoint!

Scenery

Route leads out of Redding into farm country. You'll experience many up and down hill grades with some graveled pull offs for photos. Fantastic views of forested canyons.

Drive Enjoyment

This section of road will throw just about everything at you. Quick left to right sweepers, switchbacks, up and down hill grades.Road itself is in good condition with the odd pothole. The road is narrow with no shoulders. We experienced little traffic but you have to be careful as most corners you can not see if anything is coming.

Tourism Opportunities

No real amenities on this section of the road. Mostly farms.

Hall of Fame! This road is a continuous set of twists, without traffic or intersections, with a fantastic road surface. There are great views out over the valley. One of the very best, anywhere!
