Written Directions
This is a 1/2 Day trip with good roads and Scenery with a stop for Food. Very limited highways. Starting From Buc-EE's, 40900 US-290, Waller, TX 77484, Turn right (North) onto FM362. Follow FM362 to TX 105 turning Left (west). Turn right (North) onto Highway 6. Exit Highway 6 onto Highway 90 East Follow 90 Through Anderson to FM244 Turning Left. Follow FM244 Until FM171 Turn Right entering Yankees Tavern. (Food Stop). Return route Exit Yankee Tavern turning Left on 171 then right on FM244. Turn right onto Highway 90 west. Follow Highway 90 through Navasota TX. Road becomes 105. Follow 105 into Brenham, TX to N Austin Parkway. Turn Left and follow to W Tom Green St. Turn Right one block to S. Day Street or Business 36 (South). Take 36 South into Bellville TX. In downtown Bellville take FM 159. Follow 159 to Hempstead TX and Business highway 290. Turn right (east) to FM362. Turn Left and arrive back at Buck-ees.
Scenery
Ther is a mix of Farmland and Open Fields. You will see Cattle and various ponds along the route. Ther are small towns along the way with several having Gift shops and local sites. You will have the opportunity to see other Farm life that include animals like Llamas and High Fence fields that may have exotic game. We've even seen a Kangaroo in someone's field.
Drive Enjoyment
There are a few 90-degree curves but Remember, Tx is relatively flat and straight. Some areas have slight elevation changes and sweeping curves. This is what I would consider a easy but pleasurable route.
Tourism Opportunities
Bellville has several areas of interest including Newman's Castle, Pheonix knives and a blacksmith shop. There are several areas to explore like Navasota also. You will be relatively close to College Station home of Texas A&M Aggies.
