Written Directions

Nashville TN get off of I40 west bound at the Charlotte Pike exit I think it is exit 204 continue west on Charlotte Pk for about 1/2 mile and River Road veers off to the right. Follow River Road as it heads North-Northwest up to Ashland City, TN.

Scenery

This route winds through hills and curves following the Cumberland River out of Nashville to Ashland City. Once you hit the end of the route you have lots of other roads to enjoy.

Drive Enjoyment

This road has lots of sweeping curves and a couple of tight turns. The general condition of the pavement is very good. You do need to be on the lookout for gravel after it rains.

Tourism Opportunities

There is a gas station and good restaurants at the beginning of the route. Along the way there are 2 country stores. When you get to Ashland City their is a restaurant at the marina plus numerous small places to take a break.

Took this ride today, it's near my house. I usually take Clarksville Hwy. But thought I'd give this a try. I have uploaded a video to YouTube. The video quality isn't great but gives a pretty good idea of the ride.

This is a nice road and I have ridden it many times in the last twenty some years but it's not that long, maybe 12 miles. Once you get near Ashland City you'll find that there are lots of roads around there that make for wonderful rides as well.
