Written Directions

This loop starts in East Berlin Pa., travels through the apple country of Adams County Pa. and the Michaux State Forest and back to East Berlin, just about 100 miles of hills, twisties, farm land, orchards, and Forest.

Scenery

This route starts in the farm country of Adams County, crosses several creeks, goes into the apple country of Adams County,(think Musselman's Apple Sauce) with many hills and some beautiful scenery of the orchards, into the Michaux State Forest to Rt. 30 then down off the mountain into some nice twisties, through the "Narrows" through more orchards and into Arentsville Pa. and back to East Berlin.

Drive Enjoyment

The roads are primarily curvy with many twisties and hills and valleys. The roads are in very good shape with no gravel. But as always stay alert in the twisties as there are several blind curves and hills.

Tourism Opportunities

The first part of the ride is primarily farm land and orchards with few places to stop and eat. There is a small eatery as you enter the Michaux State Forest and further into the Forest there is a state park, Pine Grove Furnace, there are two lakes here that permit swimming, have hiking trails and picnicking and restrooms. You will also pass the Adams County Fairgrounds where in Oct 13 and 14 they hold the Adams County Apple Festival, a fun time of good eats.

Motorcycle Road Additional info

This route can be ridden by any motorcycle and is great for Maxi Scooters. When through "The Narrows" Follow Rt. 234 back through Biglerville to East Berlin.

If 233, my marriage would be in jeopardy! This route is absolutely gorgeous with curves in all the right places. I rode this yesterday from PA-30 north to PA-34 and loved every second of it! This road twists through 2 state forests and the tarmac is flawless. Love being lost in the mountains with no traffic and only an open road. Even got to see 3 deer which was a real treat. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because I didn't ride the entire route. Like I said, I only hit PA-233, but it was well worth it and I will certainly be back for more.
