Written Directions

NY 18 Between Saranac Inn and Saranac Lake NY

Scenery

The whole route is tree lined and gives the appearance of a national park road. The trees create a canopy, so most of it is shaded.

Drive Enjoyment

The curves on the road are slightly banked and may have gravel in the apexes. Since there is no paving outside of the fog line, exercise caution when cornering. In July 2017 the pavement was in excellent condition.

Tourism Opportunities

The road is just north of Saranac Lake NY which has numerous options for food, gas and lodging.

Found this short diversion while looking for options on a week long tour of the Adirondacks. Nice road that provided another route through the mountains.

I submitted this route to MCR a few years ago. The road may be short, but it provides a nice relaxing way to avoid some of the more congested roads in the Adirondacks.
