Written Directions
Proceed to the intersection of MO-94 and Hwy U (12.5 miles west of the intersection with MO-47 in Marthasville, 13.8 miles east of the intersection with MO-19 just south of McKittrick). Go north on Hwy U for 11.6 miles to the intersection with Hwy MM/Booneslick Road.
Scenery
The route starts on the north side of the Missouri River valley, and climbs up the valley bluffs to the rolling hills between the Missouri River and I-70. The route is mostly tree lined, with the occasional open field or lawn, providing cooler riding in the summer and great fall colors.
Drive Enjoyment
The route is mostly curvy without being too technical, and with occasional short straight sections. The road surface is mostly well maintained rolled asphalt.
Tourism Opportunities
While there isn't anything of note along the route, the north end of the route ends in Warrenton, which has many bars, restaurants, and shopping opportunities, including the Warrenton Shoppes (formerly Warrenton Outlet Mall) and the historic Warren County Courthouse.
Motorcycle Road Additional info
Hwy U provides a nice alternative to MO-47 between I-70 and MO-94, with more curves and hills, more tree cover, and less traffic.
