Written Directions

Starting in Stillwater, St Croix trail (21) is the main road through downtown. Follow it through Bayport, the Afton and all the way down to Hwy 10 near Prescott, WI.

Scenery

You can see the St. Croix river bluff, some pretty big hills and valleys, some creeks and small towns too.

Drive Enjoyment

The route is fun, full of S curves going up and down through the hills. The road is a bit rough for a few mile section.

Tourism Opportunities

Stillwater is a hot spot for shopping, restaurants etc. And if you'd prefer smaller town feel, there is Bayport and Afton. Afton state park and Carpenter's nature center are on this route.

Really fun ride but WI bikers are awful. I came from Minneapolis cause this ride was recommended for me to try out. I got lots of waves from home over to about the WI border. As soon as I crossed I didn't get a single wave in WI from probably 100 or so bikers I passed. It must be that jerky Harley no brain cell crowd. Overall a fun ride but don't wave to any WI bikers.

I think if you own a scooter and just want to put around with the wife then this is a perfect ride for you, but if you want to actually hit some decent roads with turns/hills you will be happy for about 2 miles of the 21. Some of the nicer turns were completely un-enjoyable due to very poor road conditions. If you want to hit some curves this route is not for you.
