Written Directions

Where Hwy 26 meets Hwy 12 in Valley Springs take Laurel Rd one block NW to Daphne and turn right. Daphne becomes Paloma Rd. Stay to the right at the "Y" just out of Valley Springs where Watertown Rd to the left heads to Pardee Dam. Stay on Paloma as it winds eight miles through country ranches and back to Hwy 26.

Scenery

Paloma Rd winds quietly through country ranches with plenty of livestock. One of the ranches about a third of the way through has horses pretty close to the road and requests care there. We always coast through to avoid startling them.

Drive Enjoyment

The pavement is smooth and includes plenty of elevation changes along with twisties and some fun switchbacks. It's an entertaining option to the highway that we like to take on our way to 26 east of Mokelumne Hill.

Tourism Opportunities

No amenities on this 8 mile stretch. Just country ranches, cattle and horses.
