Take Otay Lakes Rd, Honey Springs Rd, Lyons Valley Rd and CA-79 N to Washington St in Julian1 h 17 min (53.1 mi) Head east on Otay Lakes Rd toward Wueste Rd 8.7 mi Turn left onto CA-94 W 0.2 mi Turn right onto Honey Springs Rd 7.7 mi Turn right onto Lyons Valley Rd 7.7 mi Turn right onto Japatul Valley Rd 6.1 mi Continue onto CA-79 N 2.1 mi Turn left to stay on CA-79 N 20.2 mi Turn left onto Main St (signs for Julian)

This is a stretch of highway running between the city of Chula Vista (eastlake) and along the CA-94 Highway all the way to the beautiful Town of Julian, beautiful and surreal landscape. There are creek beds, and then some nice canyon-like sections with steep drop offs, massive mountains, small ranches, some wildlife, forrest and even a lake (cuyamaca). A little bit of everything and Something for everyone who loves the outdoors and bery little population.

Drive Enjoyment

This road has a lot of sweeping curves and a few twisties specialy toward the end. For the most part it is deserted with a lot of horizontal and vertical curves. The pavement is in average condition, no potholes, but if the night catches you be aware of wildlife, i've had deer, racoons, rabits, wildcats in night rides, it's awesome!!!

Tourism Opportunities

Not very much to eat on the road, the first stop would be Pio Pico, near Dulzura, but at the end of the run in Julian you can indulge in their famous Apple Pie, Apple Cider or ever eat at the great BBQ joints they have over there, I go at least once a month because the trip is simply worth it!!
