Scenery

The route travels through a combination of open fields and yards and dense wooded sections, and the route is mostly tree lined, at least on one side or the other for most of its length. The route travels north-to-south over the east-west ridges of the Missouri Ozarks, providing the occasional panoramic view. The best scenery is during the fall color season.

Drive Enjoyment

Once out of the town of Mountain Grove, the route begins the easy rollercoaster feel that defines this part of MO-95. As the route travels across the ridges of the Ozarks rather than along them, there are frequent easy elevation changes. This combines with mostly easy curves with occasional stretches of tighter multiple ess curves for a ride that is a combination of technical sections and stretches that allow you to catch your breath - before the next rounds of ess curves. The road well maintained rolled asphalt; as of 2024, the section from Mountain Grove to Gentryville is older, with some large patched sections, while the section south of Gentryville is relatively new asphalt. There is a low water crossing over the Bryant Creek south of Gentryville.

Tourism Opportunities

Mountain Grove has a few restaurants and shops, and a town square with a historic bandstand. The route travels briefly through the Mark Twain National Forest, and through the Shannon Ranch Conservation Area, and passes near the Bryant Creek State Park.
