Written Directions

The road starts in the intersection of 40th Street and West Lake Sammamish Parkway in Redmond, it goes all around the Sammamish lake looping back to the same spot!

Scenery

I took the inner track and hence the Sammamish lake was constantly on my right. Many parts of the lake have residential complexes on the banks. There is a park half way through the loop and highway on your right for a brief strip of 2 miles. There is beautiful hill on the other side of the road. About 10 miles has excellent scenery!

Drive Enjoyment

There are a few ups and downs in the first 10 miles. The rest is near perfect. Watch out for hidden drive ways. The drivers are generally defensive.

Tourism Opportunities

Marymoor Park and Sammamish State Park are along the way and nice places to stop! There are many small stores that you encounter. I did not stop anywhere though.

This is a great route. I regularly take this as my Sunday morning "jog". It's just long enough to get some riding in before everyone wakes up for those weekends I can't get out for more substantial rides.The ride between my house and the lake adds a few more miles of similar scenery and roadways. I have also added one side of the lake ride to other rides and roads I have found in the area.

I went clockwise on the loop so the lake is on my right. There are too many things like trees and houses in the way to really enjoy the view though. Also there are too many cars and traffic lights so you have to pay extra attention to the road. Not too much fun in my opinion, but could be a nice afternoon ride around the city.
