Written Directions

Get yourself to Dover, TN (about 80 miles Northwest of Nashville, TN). From there head west on US 79 for about 8 miles until you get to where Hwy 232 and US 79 intersect ... this is the starting point. Get on Hwy 232 heading south (note: on some maps 232 can also show up as Rt 574!) ... and simply follow this for about 12 fun miles down till 232 runs into Rt 147 and you've done the "Baby Dragon."

Scenery

The scenery is a bit limited, as it follows heavy curves and dips around a good deal of hills. There has in recent years been extensive logging around the area, and consequently you have large clear-cut areas which provide decent views of the landscape. There are a number of small bridges which cross some attractive creeks. The logging is limited now, so about 75% of your journey will be 'walled in' by hardwoods.

Drive Enjoyment

232 is often called the 'Baby Dragon', as it is very curvy. If you have been to Deal's Gap, you may experience Deja' vu. The difference primarily being that the tight, technical turns of the Dragon are replaced by much longer, flowing sweepers with considerably better sight distance. A good compromise, as Sport riders can still drag a puck and cruisers can pull off decent lean without getting overly aggressive. The road condition is good/above average. The logging trucks have taken a small toll on the pavement, although its only noticeable in certain parts. Beware a few corners with patches on them- they can catch you off guard.

Tourism Opportunities

232 is located in the Land between the Lakes, (LBL), and housing is only permitted on a few sections of the road. Which is good, as there are less driveways to contend with. About 1/5 of the way down, there is a pretty happening Bar/Grill on your right called "Fat daddy's." Its located right on Kentucky lake, and often have a lot of bikers and boat traffic. In the summer, this is a stop for Bike Poker Runs. The majority of the time, the waitresses are very, very Hot. 3/4 of the way down, there is a Gas Station with some great grilled burgers, drinks, smokes, etc at reasonable prices. They cater to bikers and will prolly ask to take your picture to put it on the wall if its your first trip down. Its a very country, back woods road, so don't be looking for shopping malls or the Red Lobster.

Rode the "Baby Dragon" yesterday leaving Fat Daddy's for the first time. It was a blast. The weather was great and that made the ride that much more enjoyable. Saw lots of other bikes. I would highly recommend this ride.

At a little faster than the speed limit, this road gets to be lots of fun! The surface is smooth and the big sweeping curves are really nice. At the speed most v-twins ride, it is pretty boring. ;)

I can not recommend the cheeseburgers at Fat Daddy's, nor the other food I had. But, the scenery was indeed pretty nice. :) The road to FD's was pretty rough and not for people uncomfortable with pavement breaking up, and spots with gravel.

The weekend of the fish fry in Paris, the road was teaming with blue lights. Well, and motorcycles, too.
