Written Directions

Start 4 miles south of Noble Ok on Highway 77 and Slaughterville Rd. Turn east go 18 miles to Highway 102/Tribbey Ok. Turn south on Hwy 102 go appx 9 miles Wanette Ok, go though town to the end of the road. Turn west this should be Earl street, go 5-6 blocks and the road will curve south, you are now on Railroad Bridge Road. Turn west on 130th go 2 blocks, turn south on Johnsonville rd continue to Byars Ok. Turn west on Highway 59 to Wayne Ok. Turn North on Highway 77 and this will take you back to Noble Ok.

Scenery

This route will take you over rolling hills with lots of curves no stop signs with the exception of major intersections. Lots of hills with some sharply weaving areas on the road near Tribbey, heading south the road has sweeping curves and the portion just past Wanette the trees provide a full canopy. The portion between Wanette and Byars Okla the trees make you feel like you are in a tunnel and then you come upon an old railroad bridge. The highlight is this bridge that goes over the South Canadian River between Wanette and Byars Ok. It was converted for vehicles that stretches all the way across the South Canadian River. The bridge is long and narrow it was converted from a railroad. Built in 1902. The trees make a canopy south of Wanette.Very unusual for around here. Highway 59 takes you back through open fields mostly straight and flat wide open area. The remaining drive is open country. The ride was beautiful.

Drive Enjoyment

pavement is great. The route has equal portions of hills curves and flat areas. Overall good roads where you will find sharp curves, sweeping curves, hills and flat areas on this route.

Tourism Opportunities

The railroad bridge crossing the south canadian river is where we stopped to stretch. Had to drive over it a couple. loved it. Great Chicken Fry restaurant on hwy 77 before you get to Purcell, always crowded.

took the little woman down from Perry and went for the ride... not a bad ride. the road between Slaughtervill and Tribby was pretty twisty. No warning on the curves (no signs) so take it easy, good scenery, got chased by some kids on 4 wheelers near the railroad bridge, kind of funny.
Stop at Sonny's Cafe at the south end of Purcell. arrive hungry

I'll second what the "guest" poster said. I certainly am glad I had the directions to go off of for this ride. The north half of the loop is just a blast, with a large number of curves, and no speed limit sign in sight! The east portion of the ride is fairly standard fare for little used Oklahoma road. The bridge part of the run of it has some rather creepy roads though. By the time I got to the bridge, the kids were out playing by the river, and two rednecks were sitting at the end of the bridge with rifles. I didn't get to enjoy the bridge that much as the only real thing on my mind was getting the hell out of there. It's pretty enough of a ride though, with decent roads. Once you get on the south/west part of the ride, it's pretty much over. It's good state highway, but cleared out on each side, so you get that rolling hill scene for miles, which may or may not put you to sleep depending on the adrenaline fix you got while going through the curvy portion of the ride.

The roads are in really good shape! If you find yourself on a gravel road then you took a wrong turn. Lots of rolling hills and turns! Grab a beer at the Tibbey Barr or visit the Soggy Bottom Trails Pub if you're confident enough to ride down the 1/2 mile gravel/sand driveway (it's not that bad, lots of sand at the end though. Definitely worth it). The train bridge is definitely the highlight of this ride, along with all the overhung trees creating a natural tunnel.
