Written Directions

This loop starts and ends on Rt-56 in Athens, OH From US-50, take the exit for Rt-682 (S. Plains Rd) Turn Left on RT-56 to Start the Loop.

Scenery

This ride takes you along the windy twisty roads through Lake Hope State Park and Zaleski State Forest. There was one area where there was a pond with the largest water lilies I have ever seen. The blossoms were the size of basketballs. This was late June when we went through.

Drive Enjoyment

Lots of short ups and downs, and fairly tight twisties. There are some sections where the road surface becomes loose with some pot holes. All of that is avoidable if you are paying attention.

Tourism Opportunities

There is really not much to see or do except ride. You do pass through Lake Hope State park and Zaleski State Forest, but we didn't explore those areas.
