Written Directions

Route starts in Somerville, MA and ends in Western Saugus. Head north from Somerville on 28 North (Fellsway). This road turns into Lynn Fells Parkway (LFP). About a mile and a half into the trip the road splits into Lynn Fells Parkway West and East. Stay to the right to stay on LFP East. Follow the road for 6 miles and you will end up near Breakheart Reservation in Saugus. This is a much safer, more scenic route to travel if heading north from the city or heading south into Boston, instead of taking 93 or Route 1.

Scenery

Dense suburbs turn into rolling hills cutting through rocky forests on a well maintained two lane highway (average 35 mph).

Drive Enjoyment

Very nice easy curves and probably two intermediate twisties. Only thing to watch out for are one or two manhole covers, slightly lower than the rest of the roadway.

Tourism Opportunities

Mostly neighborhoods until you get to Melrose, where there is maybe one or two bars, and some coffee shops/gas stations. Fear not, at both ends of the route are fantastic amenities (Assembly Row and Route 1 both have dining, shopping, gas, etc.)
