I rode almost a 1,000 miles from Kansas to ride an 11mile road... It was absolutely worth every mile to get there... I believe I will be fitting this area and this road into an every three plan...

fun ride, definitely glad we road it but 165 was a better, more scenic ride. Overall a great trip, many different types of riders and vehicles travel this road.

While I thought this was a good road I think it is overhyped. Some of the other roads in this area are better I think. But if in the area a "must do"

A fun ride, challenging in places, but hard to enjoy the scenery because of the attention needed for the road, and the traffic. IMO, best to ride during the week....

Rode last summer on my Can Am Spyder RT Limited and absolutely loved it. The ride there from Tennessee was very scenic and the Dragon did not disappoint. It’s a fairly exhausting ride honestly and was glad to stop in Deals Gap for lunch and a rest. We turned around and rode it again heading back to Tennessee and it’s a ride I’ll never forget. Check one off the bucket list ✅

Rode in October, peak colors, was a great ride. Probably not as busy as usual because of overnight rain but road dried up early and was perfect!

Rode it Memorial Day weekend, there was traffic but not enough to interfere with the ride. Did a great loop by including the Cherohala Skyway for the return to Robbinsville.

Rode her 6 times last summer on two different trips. Got some great video with my GoPro. Like some of the other roads in the area better, but there's no photographers. What can I say. On the downside, someone stole my cell phone, which kind of put a damper on the trip.

A great ride for what it is, a ton of turns in a short space, do it, enjoy it, take a rest and then explore the beautiful rides close by like Nantahala and Maggie Valley.

It's a good road all motorcyclists need to do at least once. It should be on your check list if you haven't done it. Then enjoy the other great roads in the area.

Fun road to ride, but very popular with not only motorcycles but sports cars and everyone that thinks they are driving a sports car even if it's a pick up truck. Be patient pull over at earliest opportunity if there is someone behind you. Watch for those that are impatient and pass on curves (yes cars do it too). Best times to ride and enjoy are in the middle of the week on non-holiday periods.

It was a very exhilarating ride through the dragon. On a cruiser, I tend to be less aggressive than sport bikes; however, the twists and turns rolling from one turn to the next feeds upon itself until you find yourself pushing a little faster and leaning into it a little more with each progressively more challenging section of road. I rode it at the end of a longer day of riding, so I look forward to riding it again- hopefully a little more fresh for the next run through.

Rode on September 21, 2020. After years of hearing about the technical complexity of this road, i was a little intimidated. A fellow rider had suggested a Monday would be the least amount of traffic. Designed a four day ride around the idea of doing just that. When I finally got to Deals Gap on Day 3, I'd already gotten my mountain legs accustomed to tight turns again. It was a breeze and a lot of fun. The riding community in NC is very courteous. No aggressive passing; still i pulled over a couple of times to make room for the sportiest riders. The funniest thing is that my ride tracking app from Rever.co had an error and recorded this ride as taking 172,000+ hours to complete.

I used to work in Greenville, SC and the Dragon was a weekend "go to". Crowded and dangerous (mostly from others) but still a classic hoot.

Requires 100% of your concentration, this road is no joke. The downside is that I was so busy navigating the curves that I did not get to enjoy the scenery much. And this is some of the most beautiful country I've ever seen!

I understand the fun of this route and I'm glad I did it. I give it above average because of the uniqueness of it having no inlets. Honestly the other routes in the area were better. Far more scenic and still fun and challenging to ride. I would choose Cherohola Skyway over this anyday.

I rode it from the north to the south, and then south to north. I did this on the morning of my birthday this year, Aug 20th. Then rode it from north to south again, the next day, I want to ride it again. I didn't want to come back honestly, I would have liked to have stayed in Pigeon forge longer.

Too many old men in European supercars. It's a nice ride, but do it during the early morning hours on weekdays to avoid the suicidal knuckleheads. Be sure to stop at Deal's Gap to see the Tree Of Shame.

Took a group of 3 bikes and a trike through. we all had a blast. only casualty was a pair of glasses that fell off the bike after a quick stop on the side of the rode coming from Cherokee. It was a good time and many smiles had by all after. 2 of us rode it the next day, i found that if you are coming down the 129 from the Harley shop the curves are tighter, and floor boards were scraped, but that's the point. We had a blast and look forward to it again.

What else needs to be said? It's the Dragon. Epic ride. Lots of hairpin turns, beautiful riverside scenery, and a gift shop on either end of the route. Even if you don't hot dog the ride, keep your head on a swivel because folks will be ripping through the corners, pushing their capacity to handle their machines. If you're touring, use the pull outs to let faster drivers get by.
