Written Directions
Head east out of the Twin Cities on I-94, into Wisconsin.
Take Exit 3 (for U.S. 12 W) toward WI-35 S.
Continue on WI-35 S for about 10 miles. You'll hit a big traffic circle -- continue through the circle where it changes to WI-65 S at that point.
About 2 miles after the traffic circle, watch the County Road O sign on your right.
Relax and enjoy the ride on County Road O until you high Highway 10 (US-10 E) after about 6.5 miles.
Take a left onto US-10 E, then watch for the turnoff to continue on County Road O (it'll come up pretty quickly on your right).
The next ~7 miles are beautiful, scenic twists and turns. Continue on County Road O until it ends at WI-35 (Great River Road).
Take a right onto WI-35 N / Great River Road, and cruise along on there, waving to other bikers until you hit Prescott (about 16 miles).
From Prescott, turn left onto US-10 W to head over the river and back into Minnesota.
You'll come to the junction where US-10 W meets up with US-61 N. Turn right to stay on US-10 W / US-61 N, then cruise along until you're where you need to be (494 is about 11 miles up; 94 is about 16 miles up).
Scenery
Lots of farmland along the way, but this route isn't as much about the scenery. You'll see a lot of cool houses and farms, and the stretch along Great River Road has some nice glimpses of the Mississippi.
Drive Enjoyment
Lots of long, sweeping curves along this route. Once you get to County Road O, there are a few fun twisties, with plenty of winding curves. Watch for gravel on the turns, particularly some of the tighter ones. Fairly smooth riding, but once you're off the freeway, these aren't major thoroughfares.
Tourism Opportunities
Prescott is a pretty well known watering hole, and there are a few diners/pie places along the way that look like they'd be fun to check out.
