Awesome ride!!! One of the best there is. The new store/restaurant in Tazewell is now open, looking forward to checking it out. Macado's in Marion is a great place to eat, If I recall, building used to be an old bank, neat memorabilia inside, food is great, generous servings.

A first rate motorcycle ride through the Appelachian mountains on well kept roads with great things to do at both ends and a nice state park about half way through. The curves are near endless and there are typically plenty of riders on these roads on the weekend to make for a 'motorcycle rider only world' feel. 5-solid stars!

This was my first extended trip, my group and I traveled over 400 miles just to get to Tazewell. It was worth it, the challenge alone had my heart racing. The views were fantastic, plus the welcome center was top notch (lots of goodies to buy).

After having ridden this road north to south about ten yrs ago (it wasn't much publicized yet) on the way to ride the 'Tail'; the ride on the 'Tail' was kind of anticlimactic. We just rode it again last month, this time south to north and this time it was a bit anticlimactic as we had been riding for two days with a local all over the back roads. I think one day we rode for about 5 hours and I don't think we were on a total of 5 miles of straight road. I wish I would have thought of a way to keep track of where all we went but I didn't. About the best I can say that most of it was east and south around Hillsville VA; in and around the Blue Ridge Pkwy but only briefly on the Pkwy. The roads were in great condition and not much traffic on a weekday. But . . . it was a work out on my trike LOL.

Rode the Back of the Dragon Sept. 13, 2021 and it was awesome. This is one of the five rides that make up the Claw of the Dragon. Each ride seemed better than the previous one. This should be near the top of every riders bucket list!

Great corners, and scenery. Not much in the way of tourism but again that is not why I ride. It was almost as much fun as the tail. Take the corners seriously many are blind but can be pushed even in my 2019 Goldwing

Great ride. Rode South to North and North to South. In Tazewell make sure to stop by the Back of the Dragon store. 3 of us rode last week ( Wed/Thur) Sep 30-Oct 1) and there was not much traffic at all. We had perfect weather and the ride was thoroughly enjoyable.
