Motorcycle Type : Enduro

Rode this while doing the BRP in May 2016. Rt 151 is up there with the Tail of the Dragon and some other absurdly dangerous routes if not taken cautiously. For one there is minimal guard rail as you maneuver hair pin turns along the side of the mountain. It's a road that should be respected but can be an incredible amount of fun if you stay within your riding limits.
I ended up dragging my skid plate on the bottom of my VStrom a few times through the U-turn type switchbacks, which put a grin on my face.
There's not much else once you get to the bottom, just a route into Candler/Asheville. There is one gas station on the left just a few miles from the bottom.

My second favorite road in the area after 421. This gem doesn't get any of the attention of people that ride Tail of the Dragon or the cherohala Skyway or The Moonshiner or even TN 32. Their loss. This road is so fun it should be illegal. That said, as mentioned, it is pretty damn dangerous and I did see a black bear that was grazing near the edge of the road my last trip down there. So, be careful. However, if you're in for a good time and have solid nerves this is most certainly the road for you. I recommend a down and back from Blue Ridge to Blue Ridge.

This one is technical, challenging and dangerous. I rode it coming from the BRP and there is a sign warning trucks to avoid the "steep, winding road". I couldnt resist after seeing that sign. Extremely fun on the GSXR750 with knee dragging, ass hanging turns. Have fun and be careful!

Fun but hard to include in a loop. Nice a twisty as it climbs to the Parkway.
