I took this route going north as a way of getting near Helen in northern Georgia - started in Decatur, Georgia. It's good riding and was pleasant, but in my eyes, it's only a gateway to the better roads up north. I should acknowedge that the further north you go the better it gets. If you're leaving Atlanta to head north and want to avoid the major highways, it's a great choice. Road conditions were great. There are many turns to follow this route properly , so download the gpx file to make your ride easy. I missed one turn onto Bethel Rd because it came up quickly and I was busy enjoying the scenery instead of looking at the GPS.
