April 14 2018:
This is a really nice route. I cut out the Manhattan portion of this route just because I'm on LI and Manhattan is miserable. Went Throggs Neck to 95 to Hutch. Some of the roads were a little beat up from this winter (specifically Umpawaug Rd), but overall a really nice route. Some decent twisties if you dont get stuck behind a car, however beware, there are some stop signs positioned close to the end of the twisty portions. There are lots opportunities to extend the route if wanted. On the way home I stopped at Harbor Point in Stamford. Hit a ton of construction on the way home (on both 95 and 15).

Very nice roads - great for my cruiser. Not good for a sport bike, though - very poor visibility.

First ride actually following a route presented here and it was great. I started at Kensico Dam because the end of that road easily linked up to this route. This website says route 22 north is nice (and it was). Then I continued onto 172. In Bedford, I made a right on 121 and continued to 25, following the directions here.
The road itself was enjoyable and there really isn’t much traffic to contend with on the way up. That said, I did get stuck behind some cars on some particularly nice roads. I live in Long Island City and the whole thing did take me about 5 hours, but admittedly I did lose a lot of time getting lost finishing with 22 north. (I’ll need to plan this out with more care next time.)
