Took advantage of the unseasonably warm weather and rode with my son up to the Kettle Moraine park from IL, last Friday, 3/16/12. I would not recommend this time of year. Really not much to see from road. Park roads are not that exciting (25 mph) and several sections in north end of park are gravel.

Caution for non-resident bikes, there is a $10 parking fee, per bike, at Parnell Observation Tower.

Looks like a lot of great hiking trails if you're into that.

Disappointed! :(

I live less than an hour from this ride. It is a beautiful area with lots to offer. You must stop at the Hamburger Haus in the on season for lunch. Very popular stop and a good location to watch other bikes ride by. The only negative is there are a lot of stops/intersections on some of the route. And in some of the areas the curves can be gravely. Despite that, if you are in the area its a must do.

Scenery was nice but the roads are covered in gravel making turns at speed pretty treacherous.

I live in this area and always ride these roads. We stop in Dundee at the Road House also the burger place sells schwaller's steaks which are the best! Many poker runs from the south and northeast make these a stops. The view is wonderful in spring, fall, and summer. Each time has its benefits, from beauty in fall, to cooling shade in summer, to starting the year in spring. Also, take in to the north Fudgienuckles in Glenbulah on County A, nice food good atmosphere and in St. Cloud off of County G(newly paved) north of HWY 23 Fat Boys good fun and a biker stop for many poker runs. I would plan a trip here for biker vacations if I did not live here. As the man said earlier Wade house is only for some. Last week in September is always civil war reenactment which is more than the usual history stuff and worth the cost. Worth the trip.

August 2010, Nice ride-thru the forest, scenery very nice, zig zags-lots of curves, The tower is worth climbing the scenery is awesome--saw some deer--agree head out to Greenbush and once in the forest just follow the green scenic route signs which are easy to follow. The Wade House in Greenbush was dissappointing unless you really like that stuff--the ride was worth it!

On a whim, because my campsite was refunded (Delayed due to COVID-19), I decided to make a day of riding. My initial plan was to do just the South portion of the Kettle Moraine Scenic Dive, but I ended up doing the entire 115-miles. This was the nicer portion, and much better marked than the Southern portion . I didn't stop anywhere really, but just wanted to enjoy the ride and scenery. Being on a Monday, I had the route mostly to myself. The roads had quite a bit of gravel in the turns, so I had to take the turns more carefully. I had to take off one point for that.
