339 has been repaved. Lots of nice curves. It is amazing. Suggest leaving 339 at Mainville and riding into Bloomsburg. Bloomsburg is a college town with lots of places to eat both downtown and along Rt 11 just past the airport.

A beautiful road that could kill you. This road surface is so bad it should only be navigated by a farm tractor. Most of the best roads in this area have been affected by last winters extreme weather and are in less than stellar condition, but 339 is all but impassable.

One of my favorite roads, definitely needs some pavement for the one section.
We have a loop riding up north on 125 and back south on 339 with a bunch of road in between. What a great ride we try get there and crank on it when ever we can.

in my opinion the best road ive ever been on. (and yes ive ridden the majority of the east). having lived in hazleton and now in jersey i return to ride this road on a regular basis.(300 mile ride roundtrip) this road offers a wide variety of terrain and road conditions. the pictures posted paint a pretty good picture, but you have to ride it to fully appreciate what a hidden treasure this is. the road is enjoyed all the way through at a moderate speed, and why rush anyway the scenery is gorgeous. there are also other great roads around hazleton to enjoy.

Traveled this road many times. last time out (Sep 2018) bridge was out in Shumans. Cattawissa Creek. Detour was lengthy but still a good ride. The 339 ride is great in both directions.

This road should be taken off of this website. The road conditions are so bad that the road is almost unsafe to ride. I hope you don't like the suspension on your bike because you won't have any after riding this road. If the ENTIRE road was repaved then I would probably give this road a 4.

Did the road 2 times. Great ride, except for the ending-gets a little rattling over the bad pavement. Otherwise, great scenery and technically challanging road.

This is a great road. I took back roads from Wilkes-Barre to Mocanaqua and then took Rt. 239 from Mocanaqua to Nescopeck. I then picked up Rt. 339 in "downtown" Nescopeck. I rode it to Rt. 924, then took Rt. 924 into Hazleton, then to Rt. 309 and back to Wilkes-Barre. Rt. 339 is a great ride, as far as I took it. Uphills, downhills, tight turns, little traffic, nice countryside, etc. The road is pretty good until you get to about 12-15 miles from Mahanoy City, then it turns to crap. That's why I got on Rt. 924. If I ride it again, I'll go all the way into MC and take Rt. 81 back to WB. Overall, I say this ride is a 7 only because of the road.

I agree, 339 is definitely an awesome road and if you like tight turns, this road is for you. Keep in mind though that some of the road conditions are poor so turn hard and with caution. Since it is only 500 ft from me, I ride it all the time when I want to get rid of some stress. Even if you don't rip through it, the view is great. If you ride hard, you'll definitely be beat when you get done.. still does it to me..

Fantastic Ride. Where to eat, Bandits on Rt 11 in Berwick. 5 min South after you cross the river into Berwick. Great Burgers and the fries are out of this world. A real biker road house.
