I live on this road and it is a great ride. No coal on surface though. There is a biker friendly sports tavern (Overtime)1/2 mile from the eastern end in Bellaire.

This is an awesome ride. Lots of twists, turns, and elevation changes. Outstanding scenery but keep your eyes on the road. Make certain you have plenty of gas in the tank.

I road this today with my son. It's freshly paved and curvy at all heck. One of the best roads you'll find in Ohio.

What a great ride! We started in Sarahsville and rode east. Further east ya go the more twisty it gets! Nice scenery, really nice Mail Pouch barn as well as couple other patriotic barns honoring our troops On the far east side your riding along a ridge, If I recall there is a 15% grade down for 2 miles as you enter Bellaire. Road surface... not bad. Food and gas available in Bellaire.

Lots of twisties - S curves, some switchbacks - hills, scenic views. It's a great route.

A pretty good road with decent twisties that can spark up to quite good and settle back down to 'rolling hills'. The only thing I'd like to add is that as this road parallels I-70 there is an increased police presence, so I've seen. (And I VERY RARELY see any police anywhere else in south east Ohio.)

I ride this road regularly and really like it. With the fracking activity over the past few years you have to contend with more and more bottle trucks hauling frack water. That said, this is a very good ride with mostly smooth pavements, lots of curves and elevation changes. Highly recommended!

Been riding down in this part of Ohio for 30+ years. Roads such as this are great places to get away from it all. This area has great roads, doesn't matter which one you take. Just pick one and go. You will won't regret it.

Heading west from Bellaire, this road is S curve heaven for a few miles after you get out of the 25 mph speed limit. Just west of Ephraim the pavement has sunk in a few places, that can throw you off balance. Fun ride, beautiful scenery.
