This was one of my last rides for the year and will be one of my first this spring. Great riding even thou there wes a big forest fire on the North Fork of the Salmon River. smoke wasent too bad but a lot of firefighter traffic. stayed in the town of Salmon and enjoyed it and it was very inexpensive place to stay. we were lucky to get a room with all of the firefighters in town.

Rode US Hwy. 93 north from Kingman, Arizona up to Polson, Montana. Then went east around Flathead Lake up to and through Glacier National Park in July, 2009. Veered north onto State Route 75 in Shoshone, Idaho going through Ketchum and over the Sawtooth MTNS. into Stanley. Very good and memorable ride along the Salmon River. I rate it among my top five rides in the lower forty-eight.

This is an incredible ride. Very pretty and fun ride along the river and through the mountains and countryside. A nice balance of twisties and open rode. Watch for rocks and game (especially early AM and around dusk.) Try to stop at the hot springs in Stanley and don't miss Red Fish Lake. The view of the Sawtooths from Lower Stanley is like someone painted the perfect mountain backdrop on a canvas. Highly recommend! Gorgeous scenery.

2009 my wife and rode hwy 93 all the way from the Canadian border to Stanley. This is a great ride. Make sure if going north you keeping going to Hamilton and stop at the Hamilton House for some really good food.
