John did an amazing job with the virtual map tour! It truly is an enjoyable, scenic ride! There is one other way you can enjoy this ride however. If you enjoy more ocean views, you can start out on A1A in Daytona and just continue up towards Ormond staying on A1A. The Atlantic follows you the entire way with some great views of the water/beaches. Then simply turn left onto Highbridge and follow the rest of the directions! Just a small alternative to one great ride!

The loop offers some nice views, but as great riding roads go, it's boring. It's mostly straight, getting bumpy roads. There is one part that is maybe 1/2 mile long that is tight twisting road, but if you screw up it's either water or trees, immediately. It is nearly a 30 minute ride from Daytona Beach to the Loop. Overall, I have found much better roads than this one in Michigan. Cruisers will probably prefer it more than sport bikes since it isn't all that curvy.

The loop is a fun place to ride- just watch your speed once you get on highbridge! Some of the turns are very tight and several people have lost their lives on the loop...I've gone off into the woods when carrying too much speed into a corner- thankfully i missed hitting anything and just got muddy. If I had gone off on the other side, I would have gone into the river!!

Nice ride, the trees are especially spooky at night. You hear all the sounds of nature and can only see where your headlights are pointing.
There is a small stretch that you must watch out for water over the road, It is right in the middle so it would suck to turn around. It is salt water so once you go through it find the first place to rinse of your bike.

I rode the loop on May 22, 2010 and it is the most scenic route in the Daytona Beach area. Along a majority of the route the road is covered by a canopy from oak, and many other types of trees which helps tremendously to keep cool during the summer heat. There are plenty of straits, curves, and scenery along the entire route; it isn't the longest ride, but it is still one of my favorites!

The loop is one of the greatest motorcycle rides there is. Your ride begins along the beautiful Atlantic Ocean coming out of Ormond Beach. You then turn into the Tamoka Park to ride the Loop. The road is excellent with twisties and breath taking views of waterways and wildlife. There are areas to stop along the way for breaks and a packed lunch.
A nice place to stop and eat at the end of your ride is Caribbean Jacks.

This is a magnificent ride, the turns and twists in the road are exhilarating, and the scenery is like the best of Florida! I live just off the loop, so I might be a little prejudiced...but it is a fun excitiing ride!

Beautiful ride. I recommend different start. North on A1A then left on Highbridge Rd. Once back on Old Dixie Hwy. Sto at the Fairchild Oak on left to see an amazing tree!

For all the hype there is surrounding the 'loop', it's pretty crappy even for Florida, and that's saying something. Straight for miles upon miles, and the few turns there are are on a section of the road that's more often than not covered in sand. The road is also way too narrow in this section and features asphalt pushed up by tree stumps.

This is one of my favorite rides. It is a great way to reduce whatever stress you have in your life. You ride miles on A1A along the ocean, then turn inland to go through a few miles of marshland. This part of the ride provides a little bit of riding skill because of turns in the road. Turning left once again will take you on several miles of trees hanging over the road like a canopy.

Pretty much a straight ride along A1A. Plethora of bars and restaurants. Be on the look out for Pirates hanging out at one particular house, along the banisters, off the building and on the balcony.

Overall this road is just average. The only thing great about this road is the scenery. The tree canopy with Spanish moss hanging over the road makes it that way but it's mostly straight with a couple of "bends" There is one section with some decent curves but there's usually so much traffic on the road you can't really enjoy them because the cars go so slow. Also, it's probably a set of like 5 curves with one hairpin and then back to straight roads. Also, you have to time this well because if it rains the road is likely to be flooded. I give it a 3 for scenery and the set of 5 curves but after you ride it once or twice it gets boring.
