Riding Arivaca has a little bit of everything if your talking twisties, unfortunately there are alot of washes that run through the ride. A friend of mine lost it on one of those blind turns that had gravel from a wash, and it hadn't even rained in weeks. There are a few decreasing radius off camber turns throught the trip to watch out for also. I was alomst victim to one, thank god no one was coming at me in the other lane. Also alot of Border Patrol out there and for good reason!!

Continue through Arivaca and turn right at Sasabee Rd. This takes you into Three Points, turn right onto hwy 86 and back into Tucson for a nice loop. If you turn left at Three points, It takes you towards Kitt Peak Nat. Observatory and one can get out of the heat.

Fantastic Ride... There's definitely Fuel and Food. The road to Arivaca Lake, Ruby Rd., gets pretty patchy near the lake -- go slow, take it easy. Otherwise this is an AWESOME route.

The road from Arivaca to I-19 is not too bad, a few potholes along the way. The road from Arivaca to 286 is rough. There are a lot of potholes, and there is sand/gravel in the low areas so be careful. In Arivaca there is gas and food. There is a grocery store, food cart and just out of the main part of town there is a coffee shop. The scenery is great; I saw many deer along the way. Also saw vultures eating recent road kill in the road so be careful. Be careful, slow down and enjoy the ride.

Yes there is fuel available at the store. The road is well maintained but beware, that thrilling sweeper may well run into a recently flooded wash. You will suddenly be in 4 inches of gravel 100 feet across. Cows do show up in this road and deer are all year. The sweepers are irregular, some tightening turns. Frankly this road is dangerous and should be taken seriously. Moreso between Arivaca and the Sasabee hiway on to the west. The scenery is stunning and at speed, a distraction. The huge peak is Barbaquivari Peak and a landmark for miles around. Be careful, slow down and enjoy the ride.

The desert area is HOT from mid-spring through early fall - use common sense in dealing with two- and-four-legged animals!

This is a great ride, but the road can be tricky. Like when they use that asphalt gravel to fill in the pot holes. PAY ATTENTION!

Did this as part of a loop out of Tucson. Great scenery, especially in the wildlife refuge. Arivaca has a couple of good spots to stop for lunch. If you're not shy about hitting some dirt you can detour to a nearby lake.

Another common ride for me. This road is better enjoyed in the earlier or later hours. During the day it's quite warm and there are many places to stop and escape the sun. The road quality in places isn't the greatest which can hurt if you're on the wrong part of the road at the wrong time. The only law enforcement I've seen of the road is Border Patrol, and they'll just wave you by, but be careful, the best times to ride are the same times that critter are out and about, and maybe trying to cross the road.

Fun road except the stretch west of Arivaca. As of late winter 2020 it was full of potholes. The road north to Three Points is also a scenic, enjoyable ride.
