Nearly 400 switchbacks and curves in 110 miles! Just right for hard acceleration and braking but so ignore some of the 10mph signs....there’s a reason. This is a bucket list ride for anyone on 2 wheels traveling in the Southwest. We lived in Phoenix for many years and this became a fall and spring overnighted for many years. Make sure you do it in both directions....no services between Alpine and Morenci other than Hannigan Meadows and that isn’t guaranteed. Alpine is a great overnight stay with several rustic motels and very good restaurants within walking distance. The scenery is amazing, you’ll think you’re in the middle of nowhere and you are! The pavement never disappoints!
