I took this route in reverse - Hwy55 from Gainesville through Front Royal over to Wardensville West Virginia. From there down to Timberville, through New Market, 211 to Luray, then 340 back to Front Royal and I-66 to Gainesville. Almost 200 miles total trip.
It was a nice ride, good views, places to stop along the way, and not too much traffic except through Front Royal.
