The initial post had zero stars for scenery, but the description was accurate. I'd rate it a "4".
Be aware, it's not unusual for a CHP cruiser to park within sight of the junction with Hwy 25. I find the riding both sides of the junction with 25 to be enjoyable, it's just much further to Coalinga. Also, going south from the junction with Hwy 25 puts you on Peachtree Road, a fun, if occasionally goaty, mostly single lane road. Connect with Indian Valley, and you will come out by San Miguel.
