Written Directions

Start the ride in Shiocton, WI. Grab Hwy 187 and head north all the way up to the route's end point of Shawano, WI at the northern end. From there, if you want to continue on, I would suggest continuing north on Hwy 55 through the Menomonee Indian Reservation. There is a write up on that trip on MotorcycleRoads.com.

Scenery

This winding road has the Wolf River on one side and Wisconsin farms on the other. You'll enjoy the nice river views as you head up to the end point. The route also passes through the Navarino wildlife area.

Drive Enjoyment

This road has plenty of curves with minimal stops. It is in average condition but you'll need to watch sand and gravel on some of the tighter corners. This is a secondary highway so it is not in pristine condition but it doesn't stop the fun.

Tourism Opportunities

Not much to do but ride, ride, ride.

Motorcycle Type : Touring
My wife & I rode up to Shawano today to ride K & Hwy 187 south. K was a really nice ride, but 187 was a bust. It was detoured the whole way. The detour headed south runs as follows: 156 East to 47 South to 54 West. We'll have to attempt it another time.

Nice curvy ride. Southern 2/3s of the route is a little rough and some of the corners had a lot of gravel.
