Written Directions

This road connects U.S. 33 near Brandywine, WV to U.S. 220 at Moorefield, WV. It is County Hwy 7 however roads is great.

Scenery

I believe when they named the southern portion of this road Swedish Valley must have named it that because it is so beautiful it must look like Sweden. The mountains on either side and the lush green farmland through the valley is fantastic.

Drive Enjoyment

Great two lane blacktop road. Will fool you when looking at a map as it is listed as a county road, however they highway was fantastic in 2016.

Tourism Opportunities

The town of Moorefield is on the northern terminus and Brandywine is a small community on the southern end.

This is a fantastic addition to any loop in the mountains of West Virginia. Connect it with Patterson Creek Rd. near Petersburg, WV

As the route creator said this is a nice freshly paved time-saving route if you are coming from 33 and wish to get North or 48 and wish to get South, this allows you to bypass 220 which would take you out of your way and has more traffic. We just call it West Virginia County Route 3. Sweedlin has nothing to do with Sweden. It's the town's founders last name. This extends to Sweedlin Valley, and therefore Sweedlin Valley Road.

We loved this ride! Fantastic pavement, shade, no traffic, very nice! Out of Moorefield heading south it starts out as South Fork Rd/CR-7, becomes Sweedlin Valley/CR-3 before ending at US-33. There is a Sunoco is about mile west off Sweedlin Valley Rd on US-33. Next time we're out is this neck of the woods, we'll definitely ride it again.
