Written Directions

South off of WV Route 27 (near Avella, PA), North of Wheeling Route 40.

Scenery

Lots of rolling hills that eventually wind there way through a college town.

Drive Enjoyment

Smooth to very smooth tarmac pretty much the whole way. Some spots of gravel here and there, but easily spotted from a distance. A few tight turns with straights and sweepers in between.

Tourism Opportunities

Not much amenities, per se. You do pass by Oglebay Park and a college, so there is that much.

Motorcycle Road Additional info

This route can have a fair bit of traffic on it, making it interesting to get any speed up, but when it is clear it's quite good.

Motorcycle Type : Sport - Touring
Since I have introduced this route to this site the road 88 north of 40 has gone downhill quite a bit. It is rutted quite badly in the middle of the road where the double yellow line is with tire eating potholes. If you're going to try this road be prepared to bob and weave until WV DOT gets off of its ass and does something about fixing it. I say this now at the winter of 2019.
