Written Directions

Start in Raymond MS and head south on Old Hwy 18 and turn right on Old Port Gibson Road (if you run into new Hwy 18 then you just missed the turn for Old Port Gibson Road). Take Old Port Gibson Road all the way till you run into hwy 61 (the routes end point). From there you can take a left and go about 1 mile and you'll be in Port Gibson or turn right and head up to Vicksburg.

Scenery

This route offers lots of trees like the Natchez trace but not much on scenery ... its one of those roads you take for the thrill of the ride & road.

Drive Enjoyment

First legs is straights and long curves, 2nd and 3rd leg is lots of twisties and hard turns but the road is nicely paved ... great conditions to ride on any bike!!

Tourism Opportunities

This is just a back road with curves in it one lil mom and pop store and that is about it other than farmlands and hunting grounds.

This is really a great run. Just the right amount of twisties to enjoy yourself without wearing yourself out.

When you get to highway 61, if you go straight across the highway and continue, you will wind up at Grand Gulf State Park in a few miles. The Civil War museum and park are worth the few extra miles.

I live only a few miles from this road and I ride it quite often. Love it and the roads getting to it which are Fisher Ferry Rd and Jeff Davis Rd and Redbone Rd. Curves are fun to me. It's home to me so I know these roads very well and I probably go just a little faster than most riders. My bike is a 2008 Heritage Softtail Classic and my wife has a 2005 Heritage Softtail Classic. We enjoy our bikes more than anything else we have and try to ride as much as we can. Mississippi has a lot to offer in roads for pleasurable riding. OM

I love this road. At the right speed, this is about as thrilling as they come. No it's not the 'Tail" but as far as MS goes, it's hard to beat. Directions are right on. If starting from Raymond, do yourself a favor and go down US61 to Lorman and eat at the Old Store and have some of Arthur's fried chicken! Great day trip if you throw Natchez in with it!
