Written Directions
Route 17 runs parallel to the east of U.S. 27 (note: Route 17 just south of Frostproof, FL has the name the "S. Scenic Highway" and north of Frostproof it becomes the "N. Scenic Highway" for a while). Start this route in Sebring, FL and just take Route 17 north all the way until you make it up to the route's end point in Loughman, FL (just about a mile south of I-4).
From there you can go or you can swing east to Kissimmee , Fla or go west on Hwy 532 (north of Loughman) and get on I-4.
Scenery
Going north or south the rider will see very rural scenery , farms and orchards(a ride in the spring rewards the nose with the smell of orange blossoms),lakes on the side roads and a few small towns.
Drive Enjoyment
this ride follows the ridge in the center of the state with hills and long sweeping curves.The only surprise might be a slow moving farm truck other than that the roads are in good shape.
Tourism Opportunities
On this route there are many places to eat plus U.S. 27 is just a few miles to the west. There are endless places to stay , a state park in Sebring and all that Kissimmee has to offer.
