Written Directions

Start off at the northernmost section of seven lakes drive which you enter via the traffic circle connecting Rt.6, Palisades Pkwy, and Seven lakes drive. Head south until you reach the next traffic circle and take the first exit (a right turn) onto Arden Valley Rd. This road is very technical, has many sharp turns, but is extremely well surfaced and is great for cruising through the woods at slow speeds. Take this until it comes to a T intersection with rt. 17 and make a left (go south). Ride about 3 miles until there's an exit on the right with numerous green hiking signs and a sign designating rt. 17a and route 106. at the end of the ramp you will make a left onto rt. 106. this road is incredible. it has hairpins, increasing/decreasing radius turns, is extremely well surfaced, and can be enjoyed at any speed. It will bring you back into Harriman State park while it snakes through beautiful lakes. Staying on this road, you will eventually hit another traffic circle and you will essentially be bisecting 7 lakes drive (road you were originally on at the start). Take the second exit (head in a straight direction) onto Kanawauke Rd. Surface here is a tad rougher but still managable, keeping with the previous street's nature of snaking through lakes. eventually you will pass Palisades Pkwy and you will take the ramp to head north on it (right turn after the overpass). Go up Palisades for a couple of miles and get off the left side exit 16. sign should say "Lake Welch, Shebago Beach." A few hundred feet up you will stay right at the fork and continue onto Tiorati Brook Rd., another snaking road through lakes with all types of turns which can be fun at any speed. Staying on this road, you will reach the first traffic circle of the trip (the one where you turned onto Arden Valley Rd.) and you take the first exit (make a right) to get back on 7 lakes drive and head back to Bear Mtn.

Scenery

Constantly under the cover of trees through the woods where the roads are constantly snaking between lakes. Lots of places to stop and smell the roses

Drive Enjoyment

With the exception of the 3 miles on Rt. 17, every other road has been recently paved and is in literal perfect condition.

Tourism Opportunities

There's nothing around except trees and lakes. fill up before heading in, and bring a backpack with snacks if you want to picnic.
