Deal's Gap (AKA "The Dragon" or "Tail of the Dragon") - By Harleyfanatic

The Dragon definitely lives up to its name in my opinion. A challenging but fun stretch of road to ride. The road is rideable by any skill level on any bike, just don't ride outside your comfort level because there is little to no room for error. If you're not careful, it will bite you. The tree of shame at Deal's Gap motorcycle resort and the helipad on the north end of the Dragon for medical helicopters should be good reminders to be careful. That being said, I had a blast riding it. Its not a super fast stretch of roadway. 45mph is about the average speed through the Dragon but high speeds are not advisable anyway due to the amount of 4 wheel traffic.
