What a surprise! This road was made for motorcycles, BUT you'd better like LOTS of hairpins and curves. A few troublesome black snakes in the sweltering sun, otherwise a reasonable surface. Was 101 leaving Caballo, so most of the ride was HOT Mid-May. Go for the ride, not the destination. Otherwise you will be frustrated by the time you get there...lots of 10-15 mph curves. Beautiful scenery!
