Highway 21 - Boise to Lowman - By Guest

It's an easier ride when heading south from Lowman to Boise. The long, tight uphill stretch from Lowman to the first summit is more challenging in the opposite direction as you have to use your brakes much more frequently. If doing the Lowman Loop (Boise-Banks-Lowman-Idaho Citty-Boise), go clockwise. Hwy 21 is also known as the Ponderosa Pine Scenic Byway. We often continue to the Blue Haven Cafe in Lowman as that stretch has a really nice series of S-curves.
