Tates Creek Road is also KY1974 as it heads out of Lexington. As you leave the big city you are immersed in horse country. The road is constantly going over hills and making curves. The Valley View Ferry has run (free) since 1785. You follow along the bubbling creek most of the way. You turn off in Richmond by the golf club.
