-- I forgot to mention that the first 100 miles along the canyon walls gives wonderful views of the rivers below, some side roads to old mining camps, and heavily forested mountain sides of conifer trees (with needles that stay all year) rising up on unclimbable slopes, but there are so many curves, it's hard to take it all in. The last 50 miles are less curvy, and have more deciduous trees (that lose their leaves in winter), as you are at a lower elevation. --
