Written Directions

Begin in Bar Harbor ME. Acadia is right next door, and basically surrounds this seaside town. From Bar Harbor just take Rt 233 "Eagle Lake Road" west. I suggest you take one of the turns to head south and see Eagle Lake. Then continue on Rt 233 all the way until it runs into Route 3 "Sound Drive" and take a left (head south) and 3 will take you down to the coast and through Seal Harbor and eventually turn north and take you right back into Bar Harbor.

Scenery

Majestic Shores/coastline with rock formations. Mountain tops overlooking expansive lakes. Fog creeping up the hills in an eerie blanket of white cotton.

Drive Enjoyment

Since this is a national park, the roads are very well maintained. Stretches of the main road through Acadia are one way and two lanes wide, so you can ride tandem with ease.

Tourism Opportunities

The town of Bar Harbor has everything you need, great restaurants, brew pubs, shopping, coffee shops etc... some of these are very "tourist trap" in their quality but do a little exploring and you should find many under the radar gems.

Motorcycle Road Additional info

There are many places to stop on this trip and just take in the scenery, you can make a whole day of it or zip through and relax at a local Bar Harbor watering hole. Be sure to take your camera.

We spent a week in the Bar Harbor area and spent one day meandering through the park. It is a beautiful ride and the roads are very well maintained. Some nice twists and turns, riding the coastline, up Cadillac mountain, and over to Thunder Hole. This park offers lots of different sights and types of roads for all riders to enjoy.

Great Ride, Just plan ahead so you dont spend to much time getting into the park. We went during peak covid and it was empty... Great experience
