Written Directions

As you enter Joseph watch for the left turn to Imnaha. Go about 6 - 7 miles watch for the right turn, it is well signed with "Hell's Canyon Scenic Byway". There will be signs to the Hell's Canyon Overlook which about a mile out one way.

Scenery

Beautiful winding mountain road, lots of small creeks along the way, but no services between Joseph and Halfway Oregon.

Drive Enjoyment

generally good condition for a paved back country road.

Tourism Opportunities

Other that reastrooms at the overlook, there are no services available.

Motorcycle Road Additional info

Plan on at least 3 - 4 hours from Joseph to hwy 86 from Halfway. From the junction you can turn left and visit Hell's Canyon or cross the Snake and come out at Cambridge Idaho instead of going to Halfway

Great ride through the mountains. Good paved logging type road with lots of corners. The road was in pretty good condition for riding. I really felt away from everything as there is no service once off the main highway.
