Written Directions

This Route starts south of Ardmore OK. at the stop light intersection of US-70/OK-77S and loops around Lake Murray and ends back on to US-70.

Scenery

77S has some pretty over looks of the crystal clear water that Lake Murray has. There are tons of trees along the road side, so its in very pretty scenery especially during Fall when the leaves change colors.

Drive Enjoyment

There are lots of twists and turns with a few small hills. There is one section of road that has a couple small potholes but for the most part the road is in pretty good condition.

Tourism Opportunities

There is a Conoco station when you start the route at US-70/OK-77s and there's a small shamrock station 1/2 a mile north of where the route ends on US-70. This route is only 5 miles from Ardmore which has a few good places to eat.

Motorcycle Road Additional info

There's a bunch of deer around Lake Murray so be sure to watch out for them.

Add to your enjoyment of the Lake Murray ride by visiting the recently rehabbed Tucker Tower. This WPA project sits up on a rocky promontory and offers a magnificent view of the lake. The Tower is also filled with Indian artifacts and historical information. Get your exercise as you climb the steel spiral staircase to the top. Fine way to work off a delicious lunch served at the lake Murray Lodge.

This is a nice lazy ride, more suited for cruisers than sport bikes. Great views of the lake, blue green waters! Not much spectacular about this ride but it was an excuse to ride some place new.

I traveled the west leg of 77s Saturday. The rock tower looking over the lake is a nice piece of art work! It's a good road with a slow pace perfect for a lazy trip with the Triumph. The lake has to be the prettiest I have seen in the state. Ride on!
