I have ridden this road several times now and in both directions. In 2011 then have started a complete repaving job. The road was very good in its old state but now it is repaved it is awesome.

This road is good for most riders. If you want to drive slow and enjoy the scenery, there is plenty to see. If you want to enjoy the twisties and sweepers you can do that without the need to go north of the speed limit and there is little in the way of traffic to impeded your enjoyment!

At the south end of Route 800 is a ferry over the Ohio River to Sistersville WV for $3.00. It is worth the $3.00 to head south and continue the adventure in WV

8/7/21... been on sections of 800 over the years, decided to ride entire stretch of 800 South in same sitting. Picked it up at the river and rode up to Freeport. I thought it was a Great ride! As stated, best stretch is south of Woodsfield. The reviews and author describe it very well. Fresh pavement first 14 miles riding north, from the river to 255. If your lucky enough to have clean road in front of ya, it's a lot of fun!

When I rode this in the fall of 2020 the road was mostly fresh pavement so it was in excellent condition. The small diner in Fly, OH next to the Ohio River was outstanding, but the waitress told me they were on the verge of going out of business.
