Written Directions

The start of the Newt is several miles North of Farley, Missouri on highway 45. This can be reached by heading west out of Parkville, Mo on highway 45 or East of Leavenworth on Highway 45, spur. It is literally across the river from the Racetrack ride in Kansas on this forum.

Scenery

Seasonal Scenery depending on taste. Green farmlands through the summer with fields of corn, soybeans, tobacco and the odd family farm plot.

Drive Enjoyment

Parts are recovered, parts due to be recovered and parts that just really need a hand. 1st leg is 45 mph, 2nd leg is 55 but do pay attention to the suggested speed signs on the curves. The 1st leg actually has more hills and valleys then curves, the second is a good mix of both. Twisties are fun, but humps are pretty good too.

Tourism Opportunities

Weston and Platte City Missouri close to the North end, Lovely, Beautiful Parkville, MO at the south end.

In a region where straightaways are the rule, this road is a great exception and a reminder why riding on two wheels is so much fun! There are a few easy curves and a few complex ones as well -- because of that, you will want to take a few runs at this short route just to say you "got it right".
